Engineering and associated services

The ATEXO Engineering department provides services for executing infrastructure and application projects in the field of electronic government and electronic trust

In specific business contexts (particularly the public sector), ATEXO developments are oriented toward a software packaging approach, thereby allowing other clients to benefit from these developments while sharing corrective, upgrade, and regulatory maintenance costs. LOCAL TRUST solutions include packaged developments for the business requirements of ATEXO clients, especially in the public sector.

For tailored projects and packaged solutions alike, ATEXO's technological choices focus on the following environments in particular :

  • Web and service oriented architectures : ATEXO's projects for e-government solutions systematically endorse full web architectures. The increasingly enhanced integration of web portals and back-office resources means ATEXO favors web service architectures, especially when combined with the SOAP interface standard.
  • XML form management : most of ATEXO's remote procedure application projects involve XML forms and their use in workflow systems.
  • Development language : ATEXO concentrates most of its development work in languages in which it is fully proficient: Java, PHP and C#. Java environments are usually combined with a servlet-based architecture comprising Apache and Tomcat components, or a J2EE architecture using the J2EE JBoss application server.
  • Apache Web servers : most of ATEXO's development work uses Apache Web server-based publishing.
  • MySQL, PosgreSQL and Oracle Databases :The majority of ATEXO projects use MySQL and PosgreSQL database management systems. Oracle accounts for a significant part of these projects, usually because those clients concerned already used Oracle.
  • Linux and Unix operating systems : an advocate of open-source applications, ATEXO also develops solutions for Linux. ATEXO has operational experience with RedHat, RedHat Enterprise Server, Fedora, Debian and Mandrake. In addition, some of ATEXO's Java projects run on Unix systems: Solaris and HP-UX.
